The University of Fort Hare’s Centre for Leadership Ethics in Africa has made available funds to award a postdoctoral research fellowship to conduct research at the University of Fort Hare on African Liberation Heritage. The bursary is valued at R350,000 per annum.
The primary area of research is on African Liberation Heritage, with a secondary focus on leadership. Researchers in Philosophy, Political Theory, or History are invited to apply or, possibly, a related discipline, if on topic). Archival research experience is preferable.
• Emerging scholars who have completed their PhD within the past 5 years.
• Proof of formal recognition by the South African state of your doctoral degree.
• The bursary is valid for 12 months from the month of arrival, with the likelihood of extension for another 24 months, if there is evidence of good progress.
• By the end of each year of the research fellowship, each awardee ought to have produced at least 3 x publication units, accepted by an accredited journal.
• The appointed fellow must reside in East London or Alice, for the duration of the contract, aside from possible research leave and holidays elsewhere.
