In 2023, the 1st Summer School of the Conversational School of Philosophy (CSP) (re)introduced African philosophy to students, early-career researchers (Master's students, PhD students, and postdoctoral fellows), and those with an interest in the field. This 2nd CSP summer school will focus on African Metaphysics and Artificial Intelligence.
Courses:
Introduction to Traditional African Metaphysics
· Overview of Traditional Metaphysics (God, spirit-based causality, destiny, etc)
· Personhood in African Metaphysics
Contemporary African Metaphysical Views
· Nmekoka (Relationality) and African Metaphysics
· Consolationism and Predeterministic Historicity (PDH)
African Metaphysics and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
· Introduction to AI
· AI and Metaphysical Personhood
· AI and Human Enhancements: Some Metaphysical Considerations

Participation in this summer school is free. However, interested students and early-career researchers should fill in the Google application form (https://forms.gle/eyZDdCN9szSxqEq96) and submit it by attaching:
• A brief academic CV (1 page max.)
• A brief text (100 words max.) explaining why you are interested in this summer school
