Dr. Vanhoutte is part of the Core Faculty at the Paris Institute for Critical Thinking, Paris, France. He is also a Research Fellow in the International Studies Group at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa. He completed his PhD in philosophy (summa cum laude) at the Pontificia Università Antonianum, Rome, in 2008. He taught “Reading Foucault” at this same institution to MA and PhD students. Vanhoutte is a prolific writer and the author of three monographs, several book chapters, conference proceedings and academic articles. He is a sought after presenter in Europe but he has also presented several seminars in South Africa, including UCT, SU and UNISA.
