The University of Fort Hare’s Research Niche Area in African Liberation Heritage is making available funds to award a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship to conduct research at the University of Fort Hare. These are each valued at R350 000-00.
Preferred areas of research are at least one, preferably two of the following :
African Social and Political Theory
African History
Intellectual History
Archival Research
African Phenomenology
We may consider applications outside of these specified areas of research.
Requirements and Conditions
· Emerging scholars who have completed their PhD within the past 5 years.
· Proof of formal recognition by SA state of doctoral degree.
· The bursary is valid for 12 months from the month of arrival and may be extended with evidence of good progress.
· By the end of the fellowship each awardee must produce at least 3 x accepted, accredited publication units
· Preference will be given to SA citizens and permanent residents, with weighting toward Black and/or female candidates.
