UJ Philosophy: 1 Full-Time Temporary Appointment

The UJ Philosophy Department is seeking to make a full-time temporary appointment: 

 

-       Introduction to Philosophy (Semester 1) is a 14-week 1^st year course for students enrolled in the BA extended program for the period commencing the 9^th of February to the 22^nd of May 2026. The lecturer will be expected to (a) attend 2 lectures per week and deliver 1 lecture per week, (b) design a pedagogically appropriate guide for students in the extended program based on the Philosophy 1A study guide and design a complementary tutor guide, (c) manage grades, assessments and exams, (d) communicate with team members (staff and tutors) and students regularly, (e) have weekly consultation hours, and administer any other relevant aspects of the course in accordance with the expectations of the Department at UJ.
