Postgraduate Philosophy Symposium

 

FIRST CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

 

DATE:             13th & 14th July 2024

PLACE:           UNITE Building, UKZN

 

This is the first call for abstracts for those interested in participating in the 2nd SA Postgraduate Philosophy Symposium. Hosted by the University of KwaZulu-Natal, this symposium is intended to provide a forum for postgraduate philosophers to present their research, exchange ideas, and form connections with postgraduate philosophers from other institutions. The symposium will have an open theme, and Postgraduate students working in ANY field of philosophy are invited to submit abstracts.  Please distribute this CFP as widely as possible.

 

Format of Symposium:

Sessions will be 45 minutes long - please allow roughly 30 minutes for presentation and 15 minutes for discussion. 

Chairs for each session will be appointed. 

 

Abstracts:

Please email abstracts of no more than 300 words to pg.phil.sy...@gmail.com

Abstracts should be submitted by 1st March 2024.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by 1st April 2024.

 

Venue & Accommodation:

The conference will be held at the UNITE Building, Howard College Campus, Durban, UKZN.

Symposium Fee:

There will be a fee for symposium attendance of R300. 

(There is a reduced fee of R200 for Postgraduates who presented at the 2023 Postgraduate Symposium.)

Breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be provided on each day.
