The African Centre of Epistemology & Philosophy of Science (ACEPS), at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa invites applications for 3 stipendiary postdoctoral fellowships (ZAR 20 000 per month tax free) starting 1 January 2026 (or later depending on visas for international candidates), renewable for up to 3 years.
If you are looking for:
· Networking with the biggest international network of Rеsearch Associates, contacts and visitors
· Funded opportunities to present at local and international conferences
· Flourishing through weekly reading groups and writing retreats
· Feedback on research writing from the whole ACEPS team and network of international RAs
· Experience at running conferences and writing grant proposals
· Teaching and supervising are optional but available.

The candidate will:
- have obtained their PhD in Philosophy no earlier than 1 Jan 2024 or will graduate in 2025
- be proficient in English
- have a burgeoning publication record
- work in any of the centre’s core areas—epistemic decolonisation, epistemic oppression, African epistemology, social epistemology, or the epistemology of the internet/ AI,
- be required to be present in person at ACEPS and actively contribute to its vibrant life
- be expected to publish 2 journal articles per year
