Is anyone successfully using the EAS Administrator on a remote
computer? I'm logged in as EASAdmin on a server that is running
EASIIS. I installed just the EAS Administrator but unable to connect
to the EAS server running on another server.

Version: 6.2.1.5 (I also tried EASviews.exe 6.3.0.2 as a test -- no
joy)

Time: 02/07/2011 1:35:52 PM
MsgID: 109
ServerID: -1
ProcessID: -1
Type: ERROR
Message: Error sending viewAlive message and obtaining viewID:
10.200.9.119. No model found at this address or model unable to
connect to view. The view may also have insufficient permissions to
the EAS server at the specified address. If you have previously had a
connection you may need to wait a couple of minutes for the RPC cache
to clear itself.

Any clues?

Thanks in advance.

It doesnt mention it in the error message but have you specified the
IP of the machine EAS server in the initial connection window?
Sometimes ours defaults to loopback. Also check that the EAS port is
allowed through the firewalls.

Also try killing all EAS services on the IIS server using task
manager. Sometime the console gets its knickers in a twist. This
shouldnt stop retrieval

Hi,

What you need :

1. Install the SQL Client corresponding to the version of your
database.
2. Install Outlook and configure it with a MAPI profile (disable
exchange cache).
3. Configure the ODBC connection to your EAS database
4. From the EAS Server add the account (settings --> View Account
Administrator) and give the permissions
5. Install EASServer_x.msi. During the installation select only EAS
Administrator.
6. Choose the ODBC connection you have previously configured.
7. When the installation is completed start a command prompt and enter
easviews -config
8. In the database tab configure the SQL connection --> Verify the
connection
9. Go to the Exchange Tab and enter the Profile you have configured
previously.
10. Start the EAS Administrator when the Connection info screen
appears click on Advanced.
10 a. For the Model Connection Parameters section in Network Address
enter the IP address of the EAS Parent server
10 B. For the View Connection Parameters sections in Network Address
enter the IP address of the local computer. Click on Ok.

You should be able to connect to the Parent.
