Good Evening Zambezi Toastmasters!

I hope everyone enjoyed “Youth Day” today, it sure was a fantastic day to be outdoors!

This afternoon at our 200th Zambezi Toastmasters meeting we had 23 members and guests privileged to listen to four brilliant speeches, some excellent Table Topic responses and some very spot on evaluations of the meeting and speeches.

Taffy was our Toastmaster of the Day and she did a fabulous job of keeping the meeting on time and with the assistance of the VPE Lulu getting all the roles filled.

Linda gave her project one “Icebreaker” speech today and we learned how she spends her week and what drove her to join Toastmasters.  You would not believe how busy she is.  When you come to the next meeting please make sure to ask her.

Maambo gave his project three “Get to the Point” speech which he focused on the importance of journaling and provided us excellent reasons why we should all take 10-15 minutes out our day to write a journal.  He had such confidence and poise when he delivered this speech.

Ndonje gave his project five “Your Body Speaks” titled “Benefits of Learning to Drive a Manual”.  What a fun speech as he took us on the roads of Lusaka and rush hour traffic explaining why driving a manual transmission is much more fun than driving a car with an automatic transmission.   He really did use his body language to drive this points home.

Lulu was brilliant in her project nine “Persuade with Power” speech titled “Sneakers”.  By the end of the speech she had convinced us all the put on our Sneakers, take the first step and launch ourselves to success…be it achieving various goals in Toastmasters or just getting away from a bad situation to start fresh.  The examples she used were heartwarming and ones we could all relate to.   I can’t wait to hear her project ten.

Adewale challenged all of us with his Table Topics focused on “Youth Day”.

Lawrence, Simunza and Johan all provided insightful evaluations for all members and guests to use.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting….please make sure you get your requests for speeches and filling the critical leadership roles to Lulu your VP Education so she can finish filling the agenda early.

Have and excellent weekend!
