I am struggling with the same issue. My environment is CRM 2013 SP1 on Windows server 2012 R2. Email Router is installed, configured successfully on the same server as CRM. When sending email via CRM it fails and Event Viewer shows me this error:
#61042 - An error occurred while processing the outgoing e-mail with the subject "bla bla bla" for SMTP: myserver.mydomain/myOrg for delivery via My Exchange Server FQDN name. System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException: The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.
