USEnet is mostly dead now. Have all the old timers died: who knew that a
sensible, structured debate can't be conducted on F/B, twitter?
Constitutional Prof. Pierre de Vos' excellent blog has also <crashed> due to
his understandable defence against the unfortunate attacks on his open
homosexuality. Who remembers the 'Will & Grace' TV series.
Is it documented that it's to be expected that homosexuals will form an
above average [pro rata] lawer population, since they are understandably
fighting against the [also understandable] bullying suffered in childhood?

I was lucky to have pointed out to me, that RSS via a text-browser [to
avoid the clutter of pictures], was a good substitute for USEnet.
I use `snownews - links/lynx` under linux.

Of course, I subscribed to all the good-old: BBC, mail & guardian,
PdV constitutional blog...etc.; and by a stroke of luck, also to
http://www.dailymaverick.co.za/rss

What an amazing/perculiar publication ?!
They've got a team of brilliant journos/contributors.
[I tried to email one who obviously had a good grasp of law, to
sub-contract to do crit & 'clean-up' of my legal documents, but got
no reply.]

A recent [research quality] article of DM exposes how it's absurd to
empower the KNOWN CORRUPT traffic-cops/SAP to enter premises for controlling
and checking business-licences: is a further example of DM's brilliance.

Sorry: was I gushing?

My problem with DM, is [IIRC] they insist on full names for blog contributors,
since you'll agree that:
1. the notion of 'secret ballot' is VALID;
2. this 'give your full name' has lead to the absurd *FAD* of posting your
picture and that of your dog, and other <celebrity seeking amerikanisms>.

PS.
I've got a theory, that what 'the West' understands by corruption, and
the 3rd world 'doesn't see', originates from 'our' understanding of eg.
Newtonian Physics...
* every action has an equal/opposite reaction,
* conservation of energy, momentum...etc.
* self-balancing debit & credit

Some of us believe that 'these rules' *ARE* 'god'.
Understandably, if you don't know about these rules, and rather
believe that 'the universe is governed by the spirits of your ancestors',
then the West's obsession with SO CALLED corruption' is just crap?
