Hi! I'm using Win 95 and want to format my hard disk. However, I'm not quite
sure how I should do it and also, how can I backup the software I store now
in my hard disk so that I don't need to download all of them again.

I really need your help and please reply via email. Thank u very much!

I personally wouldn't try it! The last time a formatted one partition
on
my hard drive Windows 95 formatted the whole drive!

If you don't have two hard drives, which is what it sounds like; you had
best be copying all your necessary files to floppies. (It may take quite a
few even using compression and the backup program.) If you are figuring
on going to a different operating system, even an upgrade, you might had
better not use any compression or possibly even the backup program in
windows. Just use your file manager "Explorer" and copy the larger files
to more than one disk, keeping all the names and paths the same is best.
Any of the operating system files are probably best re-installed, the same
goes for other copy-righted programs. Those you have zipped from down-
loading from the internet are probably okay, at least for that one machine.

Sincerely,
