HELP! I need your help with computers in my classroom

Hello:

I am a teacher of a Grade 4 class (which means I teach everything except French).

I have been asked to submit a report to my Principal concerning a request for computer hardware for a 4-computer classroom situation.

He wants my proposal to include the hardware to be utilized, the type of Operating System that would be ideal for my classroom, what peripherals (if any) would be useful AND practical (i.e. cost effective) in my classroom, which type of interface (Windows 95, 3.11, Mac, etc.) would be best.

He also wants me to take into account such things as climate (I live in Southern Ontario, CANADA), ventilation (I am in a portable), sound prevention, lighting, and possible classroom layouts.

I would appreciate any suggestions/ideas on how I can write this report and what I need to include as I am not a very computer-literate person....I know the basics...that's about it!
