Good morning all.

I wanted to ask after some functionality that I see referenced, but which doesn't seem to be available currently...

... namely the ability to convert cobol to java.

The batch file to do the 'Compile/Link/Go' looks to have been called ZCJAVCLG and I am sure I even used it and examined the cobol to java translation java source many moons ago.

Can anyone share if this is dead, archived, perhaps ressurectable, or if I have just missed it somehow please?

Mark,

Don mus know this a lot better than I do.

From my recollection I think Don started out an experiment
to translate Cobol code into various 'target' languages.
To my knowledge he has left these experiments behind.
zCobol currently generates only HLASM code.

If you want anything else, you may want to contact Don.
He may be able to answer why he stopped the attempt.
Or he may have advice on how to 'revive' that branch of old code.

In the github repository I'm building the old code can be
retrieved. We may be able to reuse what he created ...

Kind regards,
Abe

Hi Abe, thanks for replying.

I see Don does frequent this list, so I will wait to hear if he has anything to share.
