Please right-click on your VM in VirtualBox -> "Settings…" -> "Network". Is the "Adapter Type" NAT? If not, why?
If so, "Advanced" -> "Port Forwarding" should show you the following port forwarding:
SSH, TCP, (empty), 60022, (empty), 22

Yes, it is possible. I have done so, although only using my "Thin" server approach. I also recommend using multiple computers.
Anyways, if you don't use a "Thin" server, you need to create several distinct port forwardings to inside the VM. It's not trivial but it can be done and has been done by some people that I know.

No, I mean in principle it sounds great. However, note that zTu hasn't really been tried with huge interactive experiments that depend a lot on instantaneous decisions. Not sure whether any other platform might give you a better experience.

It's the following:
https://gitlab.com/cler1/ztu-singlelink
Basically, it's a sessionwide link, so you don't need to give a unique link to each subject individually.
Best,
Max
