Hi all,
While I recommend other software for new experiments (e.g.,
https://github.com/mrpg/uproot - please check it out!), I understand there can still be a need to run z-Tree unleashed. I was able to install zTu on Debian 13 using these minimally updated instructions:
https://cler1.gitlab.io/ztree-unleashed-doc/docs/installation-server/
I have in my possession a clean VM image if anyone wants it. A few observations:
1. The VM image has been confirmed to work with z-Tree 5.1.21. Screenshots attached.
2. Antialiasing seems to be no longer available.
3. RTF support cannot be checked, as I do not have a suitable Windows machine available from which to pull the necessary DLL.
4. Some things appear to have changed in Wine, one of the key parts of zTu. The installation and initialization now need a lot of disk space. This is an unfortunate state of affairs: the VM image is about 58 GiB uncompressed.
Please email me privately if you want the VM image.
Best,
Max
