singlelink giving "out of links" message when it's not out of links

Hello! Max, thank you for creating singlelink; it is going to be very helpful for my lab.

One question/issue we have been having: occasionally on testing we have received an error message upon clicking the single link, saying that there were no more links ("out of links"). But we had created as many links as we needed for the test, so we were not actually out of links. Distributing the original links that weren't taken, instead of the singlelink, worked fine. Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a way to resolve it?

We think it's possible that it only happens when multiple people click the singlelink at the same time, as the error doesn't happen if we click the singlelink one by one (though when we aren't testing, we'll have to assume that some participants will be clicking the singlelink simultaneously).

Thank you!
Ashley

Hi Ashley,

What does the "Monitor sessions" tab say, i.e., does it confirm that it
is out of links?

Have you considered setting $max_delay to 0 in the config.php? The
default delay (3 seconds) may frustrate users, who then open the link
again, thereby "consuming" another slot/removing one link when they are
in fact already removing another one.

Best,

Max
