Today, Saturday, is my day off. I just got my Walmart pay and I sat here for
3 hours working on a budget to help get my bills paid. It's impossible
without borrowing.
With my current Tim Horton's income it will be impossible to succeed. Tim's
is only and just barely enough to live on because I'm still paying Maggie's
way. She had expressed an interest in going to live in Deep River cause her
dad will pay and she will be able to have some money. I have not had any
money for her and had to borrow to pay her share of the rent. MFD was very
kind. (A strange combination of words).
I need to borrow $2000 to catch me up and can budget to repay it at $100 a
month if Maggie can pay her own rent or does move. If she doesn't then I am
still $2000 in the hole and that amount will increase by $150 every month.
I make 700 - 800 a month. Minus...
daily living 300 (one person $10/day... food, gas, cigs, toiletries,
etc.)
rent for 2 500 (includes bills and rent) (Would be more if we
cared more about being warm too.)
bill payment 100 (when I find a lender)
See I'm $100 in the hole already not counting for any emergencies or
whatever.
It's so hard to figure out what to do to have enough money. If I had to (or
could) get a room on my own it would cost about $350. So how does that
change the picture...
income 700 to 800.............
rent 350
daily 300
bill pay 100.
that's 750 and I may not make that, which will mean, once again, less food
and less enjoyment of life. What little enjoyment of life currently
available is a laugh in itself.
Woe is me.
Anyway... I like working for Robert Kidd. He's a jolly looking, fairly young
guy who owns the Timmy's and supplies the Canteens. He's a hardworking and
smart business man. Looks can be deceiving. He's smarter than he looks. And
I think he's being very helpful to me as I am to him by making myself
available for work when and where he needs me.
Tonight is Tim Horton's Christmas party. He asked me if I was going. I had
only worked with them for one day (other days at canteen, don't count as
working for Tim Hortons) although the pay all comes from the same place.
So I said okay, but I don't know anybody. He said well just come and eat
some pizza. How can I refuse when he is going to be my bread and marg.
On Sunday is a baby shower for Jessy at 2pm in Deep River, set up by the
woman Jessy works for in the little 50's style restaurant. And I go to work
at Tim's at 4pm. My second day at Tim's. At least it's a quiet time of week
and day.
Man it gets busy there. People line up by 15 to 20 people several times a
day. Mostly just for coffee. Some want 4 coffees and donuts or bagels or
soup or a sandwich too. There's 6 of us in a very small space just to serve
them quickly and efficiently. The 3 F's of Timmys... Fast Fresh and
Friendly. That's us.
All service steps are planned and streamlined and the system works. So it's
easy but a lot of work. (Goshdarned hair net and visor).
Well, I am going to go find the telephone book and see if anyone will lend a
4-yr.-bankrupt any money.
Why do I keep getting myself in these situations???
Do I have a picture to send...?
Oh yah... a picture of a cape from the 1910's. It's drawn as a cutout for
dressing a cutout doll. But I thought T might be interested.
