Highlights include:

* Dory Funk Jr. pulls off one of the greatest upsets in wrestling history when he downs Gene Kiniski for the NWA World heavyweight championship.
* The Rock takes back the WWE title from HHH.
* Ric Flair regains the NWA World heavyweight championship from Macho Man Randy Savage.
* The Steiner Brothers finally beat Kevin Nash and Scott Hall for the WCW tag title.
* Masa Saito brings a World heavyweight championship to Japan.
* Jack Brisco wins his first title in the state of Florida.
* Lou Thesz defends the NWA World heavyweight championship in Ft. Worth against Duke Keomuka
* In Tampa, the annual Gasparilla Spectacular sees Dory Funk Jr. defends the NWA World title against Bob Orton, Sr. while Jack Brisco challenges Masa Saito for the Florida heavyweight title.
* Gentleman Chris Adams upsets Kerry Von Erich for the American belt.
* Terry Funk takes the Missouri title from Johnny Valentine.
