Badija Summer Camp 2004
We are very happy to announce that the International
Summer Waldorf Camp on the island of Badija will take
place again this year for the fifth time.
We owe this to the generosity of the Franciscan Order
and the American foundation who will be our host this
time. The camp is to be held from 1 st -15th of August
2004.
Badija is a beautiful small Croatian island near
Korcula, in south Dalmatia. The island is about
1km2 and is covered in pine trees and surrounded by a
crystal sea. There are no cars or businesses on the
island and the only building is a 15th century
Franciscan monastery. Yet it is only 10 minutes ferry
trip away from the historic Island of Kor?ula.
We are planning to offer various artistic and sports'
workshops in 1-2 hour daily sessions such as painting,
circus, eurhythmy, regional folkdancing, singing,
drama with concerts, water/beach games and lectures in
the evening. But you can do as much or as little as
you like - some prefer to just relax and enjoy the
beauty of the island.
Interesting excursions to the neighbouring islands can
also be organised, for example to the town of
Kor?ula (the presumed birthplace of Marco Polo),
to the Island of Mljet (a nature park of unique
beauty) or to Lumbarda (an area of vineyards and
sculptors).
Accommodation is within the medieval monastery,
providing a unique setting and atmosphere. Facilities
are basic, with simple rooms with two, three or more
beds and shared showers and toilets. Prices include
three meals a day, with dining in the beautiful
cloisters area of the monastery.
I am inviting you to join us - Badija is really
something very special in this time full of rush,
noise, jostle and consumerism. The summer camp is a
peaceful haven, where spiritual and natural beauty,
the feeling of freedom and the creative come together
in a unique combination.
This holiday has been a wonderful experience for our
children and that is why we are returning to Badija.
This is probably the last chance to have "the Badija
experience" !

Prices: • Full board 20 EUR (approx. but normaybe less)
per person in rooms with 2, 3, 4 or 5 beds, with cold
water and shared showers and toilets
• Children under 6 - 50% discount
• Children under 3 in - free of charge
• Workshops fee (ca. 77 EUR per person)-should be payed
for every participant exept for children under 5
• It will also be possible to accommodate groups of
children if they are accompanied by a teacher/leader
(around 10 children per group).
