v.92 upgrade gone bad!!

I have a US Robotics 56K (model 005686-03) and I
downloaded the v.92 upgrade package, Control Center. Everything went fine
until the "Update" process start automatically. I does this by default
according to the documentation. The problem is, the modem will not
update! Now the modem is unusable.
Can I convert this modem back or undo the
upgrade? Any help will be appreciated. Via the newsgroup or
email.
