Hi
I run a 450Mhz P3 PC with two HDD.
On the first one my winmodem works fine IRQ 5 IO 110h... COM 3 port.
On the second one the same equipment used to work just as fine until I
mounted it on a second computer with a Olitec V92 ready PCI card modem for a
test.
When I mounted it back on my first computer the modem was first recognised
during boot but actually not installed. I tried many things including
de-installing the Olitec, taking away the modem and re-installing...When
asked to install a new modem the system only tests COM 1 and 2...and
obviously does not find any new modem...
Apart from deleting Windows and starting from scratch I do not see what to
do!.
Your kind help would be greaty appreciated.
Thanks
John Huberson

Sorry if my description seemed a bit confusing, I hope I give sufficient
extra details...
Thanks for all

operating system ? no, windows 98

V92 ready PCI card modem. The reason was to check the possibility to install
a modem on an old computer which in the end proved impossible all new modems
seem to use MMX instructions which this old computer had not (Pentium 75).
After that I tried to re-install my second HDD on my PC with the Sportster
winmodem internal card.

I suspect the Olitec modem was not properly de-installed although I did it
via adding/ removing programs...
