I'm working out my options and this looks promising.

I haven't got an iPad to try it on, but I can't think of any reason why
it wouldn't work. If you put the ywSynch "Remote" folder in a Dropbox
I'm told that you should then be able to open the documents on an iPad
from within the Dropbox app, provided you have a suitable word processor
app on there.

I don't know whether any iPad word processors support rtf. If you can
find one that does then you can set ywSynch to use rtf format and you
won't need to have LibreOffice. If not, you can install LibreOffice on
the PC and have ywSynch put the documents into the Dropbox as doc or
docx files.

I think there are some apps that do edit RTF ... I'll be testing that next week. One thing is that I'll need to be working offline, since I won't have any network, just wifi.

That should be fine, assuming the iPad Dropbox app works like the Android one. Once you synch to the Dropbox on the PC, you should be able to set the documents in it as favourites in the iPad app, and they will then be stored on the iPad so that you can edit when it is offline, and synch when it is back online.
