I put this together:
http://greg-kennedy.com/ywriter/

Maybe someone would like to wiki-fy it? I believe there are steps
missing (fonts etc) but I'm just trying to get it running for my wife,
and I thought the info might be useful for others trying to figure it
out.

Looks great. Would it be okay if I copied it to the Wiki? People are much more likely to find it there, and google will be paying for the bandwidth with all those images ...

I've set up a blank page which, for now, just links to your tutorial:

http://sites.google.com/site/ywritersj/installing-on-mac-os-x

Eventually it would be good to move it across.

I tried to install yWriter on my Mac, but the link to the zipped
version that I need is dead. Could you have a look at it? I tried the
beta version zip file but running it doesn't work on my mac.

The link on this page definitely works:

http://www.spacejock.com/yWriter5_Linux.html

I've also changed the yWriter download page so it links to the Zip file instead of the Linux page:

http://www.spacejock.com/yWriter5_Download.html

However, the Zip file is more of an upgrade than an installation. For example, you don't get the desktop and start menu shortcuts with the zip, although that's not relevant with Mac/Linux.

Thanks Simon, I noticed you changed the yWriter5 to link to the zip file. Last week it didn't, and today it did. Eggggsalent...

Yes, please copy it over - it would no doubt get a lot more visibility
from the main wiki, plus I don't intend to maintain it at all : )

This tutorial is only a partial success though. After playing around
a bit, I wasn't able to open the "new scene" menu, which meant I could
never actually write anything. Maybe some other OSX users would have
better success.

I'd check the log file - it's likely to be a missing font issue.

Okay, it's up and I've also copied the images to Google's site.

http://sites.google.com/site/ywritersj/installing-on-mac-os-x

I've also added you as an editor, just in case you want to tweak the page in future.
