I've spent a couple more days on this and it's getting there.

I've moved all the existing 'colour pickers' into the new theme engine. This means things like item highlights, character highlight colour, spell checking colour and so on become part of the overall theme.

If you don't touch the themes, you won't notice any difference, because the default theme on your system will just use the existing custom (or default) colours.

Right now it just loads a default theme, lets you play with the colours, and then it uses that theme.
I plan to have a selector with multiple themes, and people will be able to share them here in the group. ( They're just small text files.)

Still working out what I can and can't override. I will get around to changing column headers and tabs, I just have to work out the best way which doesn't involve manually adding code everywhere I've used one of these controls.

Super cool! I love my dark themes (means I can be lazy about using the screen reader).

That's good to hear!  I'm just sorting out what happens when there's no theme on startup. I think it's all working, so I'll release a beta and see what happens.
