I have poor eyesight, so I increase the app font size to make it easier for me to read. However, doing so causes problems where you cannot read dialog boxes because the dialog doesn't resize to accommodate the larger font.

The storyboard is also unusable as the very top character's timeline is pushed off the top of the screen. The only way to get all of the characters to fit onto the storyboard is to set the view to "Tiny". (if you look at the example below the Timeline for the first character (red line) is only visible when the view is set to tiny.

Also, the fonts on the storyboard don't switch to the larger size and are pretty tiny and it doesn't matter if you set the view to tiny, small, normal or large, the writing in the boxes stays tiny.

I haven't checked every single dialog, but most appear to increase font size as expected, but as in the example below, the dialog doesn't always adjust to accommodate the larger font. The fonts don't appear to increase on the Scene Ratings Chart either.

If it matters i have the font size set at 14.

I've been working on scaling over the past two weeks, as it happens. (I'm now using a 1440p main screen and have Windows set to larger font scaling)

It's a while since I released a new Beta as I'm trying to catch a few other bugs which people have reported, and it's the first time I've had for programming for quite a few months.

No worries. Just thought I'd mention it.

By the way, I forgot to tell you before, but I'm using 7.1.5.8.

I'm thinking of starting an Alpha release version of yWriter.  One of the reasons I upload new Beta versions so rarely is because I know a lot of people use the Beta as a matter of course, and therefore I treat it like a proper Release candidate. (The actual Release version is rarely updated.)

If I have an Alpha channel with a zipped version of the program, I could upload much more frequently and get some more real life testing going before I promote a release to Beta.

Obviously I use the alpha version myself now on all my projects, so it's not broken (to my knowledge) but the Alpha would be strictly for testing and not real use.

Cheers
Simon

Okay, as promised I've created a dedicated page on my site for Alpha test releases:

I can update this version frequently - all I have to do is double-click a batch file on my PC and it will pack the current version I'm working on and upload it.

This is what's known as bleeding-edge. If I post here saying I've added something or fixed something, it will be in this version.

It will free me up to release much more often, and address bugs quickly.

Cheers
Simon
