Global search function has become almost useless on all versions newer than 7.1.3.0

It finds the word. However, in 71.3.0 and before, you could then click on the textbox to open the scene which has the word in question. Versions after that seem to open just the scene that has been opened the last time.
So when one wants to change a certain term depending on the situation, one is screwed, because one just sees the chapter, but has no idea which scene it is. This behaviour let me revert to 7.1.3.0.

Search has been a never-ending pain to code correctly, because what you see is RTF but all the program knows is plain text and markup. Therefore it has to seek the string in converted RTF but then translate the location back to the markup/plain text - which means skipping over any markup control codes which are not even present in the RTF. And then it has to display the correct location in the preview window.

I've rewritten the routine a number of times now.

Thank you, I understand. But the problem is that a click on the non-editable textbox, that correctly show the word does not open the scene which is show there. Instead it openes the scene which I had last worked on. Searching as such worked fine for me, no problems there.

Is that also in the latest Alpha version?

I may be misunderstanding something, but I cannot recreate this issue in the 7.1.6.3 alpha that I'm using.

I am happy to confirm that it works properly on the 7.1.3.6 alpha.

That's good to hear, thanks

I have this same problem. Is there some way of showing the scene title or id number? Nor did the correct chapter show for when I did a search next.
