accidentally deleted text

I accidentally deleted my text when trying to copy it, and undo (button or ctrl+z) doesn't do anything. There's nothing in the backup folder, only a blank scene. I've had this happen before, how do I fix it?

The autobackups folder will have time stamped backups of each scene going back to when it was first created.

If you're using yWriter5, I recommend yWriter7 instead.

There's nothing in the file, I'm not even sure where "000 --" came from.

You might have to check the autobackups folder manually.

As long as you're using the YW7 format (and not YW5), the scene data is also saved inside the project file backup every 15 minutes.

I did, those files only had 000 --- as well. I'm using YW7 with autobackup at 5 minutes. Even my computer backup has only 000 ---.

Very strange.  You can always email me some of the autobackups off-list and I can inspect them.

Is the whole project stored locally or on cloud storage, and did you set up the alternate backup folder?

It's set up locally. I don't have an alternative backup folder.

Upon review, save settings are actually the first option for saving to the same file. I don't understand why "undo" didn't work, regardless.
