Simon,

Just letting you know the check for updates back-end is not working with yWriter.

Thanks, I noticed yesterday. My web hosting company enforced a 'user agent string' requirement, so I had to alter the program but that doesn't help people who already have it.

I'll upload an alpha now.

Okay, I've downloaded and successfully installed the new alpha release on my PC, but I can't figure out how to get my already-saved projects (*.yw7) to load using the new alpha release--they want to keep loading the 7.1.5.2 .exe, instead. Any suggestions?

I installed it and yes, it works great! Thanks Simon!

You can uninstall the old version, or you can right-click a project, choose Open With, and locate and select the new version.

Cool. I'll give that a whirl. (Funny how many simple things you forget when you're out of the IT industry for 10+ years...)

Well yes, and Microsoft likes to change things for no reason, which means supporting family on various flavours of Windows 7/8.1/10/11 is a pain.

I hear that. I’m still the “IT Guy” in my family and it’s getting harder and harder to keep egg off my face. LOL
