Simon,

I am writing my fourth novel in a series. Somehow, a precise timeline has gotten away from me over the novels. The timelines are still acceptable, but I am wrapping up the series and having inconsistencies.

Do you have  a timeline module in yWriter7 or a suggestion for an external program? Thank you.

The easiest way to do it is with https://sourceforge.net/projects/thetimelineproj/ (a python program) as the timeline program, and https://peter88213.github.io/yw-timeline/ to synchronize the timeline with your ywriter project. I have used these on Linux and Windows, so I know they work on those two setups.

The timeline is created from the date/times on the scenes in your ywriter project, so in order to make a project timeline you have to have created the information in your project. I used this with a decent sized project and it made sense of it for me. It also exposed a few amateurish plot holes based on when things happened...

I am sure that Peter or Simon will correct me if I left stuff out or said something wrong, but I like these tools and they work for me. YMMV.
