project notes open as pop up?

so i was using ywriter5 for the past year without realizing it was such an old version, I just updated to 7 to fix an issue I was having with not being able to apply a dark theme, and that works now, but now my issue is that any time I go to edit a project note, it opens as a pop up instead of allowing me to edit it in the box at the bottom. is there any way to stop it from opening in a pop up?

I changed it to a popup because there were issues with people changing the note and it not saving. Now it's definitely saved.
