Greetings!
I am hoping someone else has run into this issue and knows how to resolve it... I'm using yWriter on both Windows and Android. I like that I can use my phone to make changes before bed, and then have them available on Windows the next day.
Voice recognition on my phone is much better than voice recognition on Windows 10. But!
I don't know how to make dictation capitalize the first word of each sentence. Phone details: Android 9 build number PPWS 29.69-39-6-4. Kernel 4.4.153-perf-g81a5f80
Android Keyboard app: Gboard version 14.3.10.637860732-release-arm64-v8a
Google Messages app: messages.android_20240621_00_RC03.phone_dynamic. The Google Messages app is for sms and rcs chatting. When I use voice diction with GBoard and Google Messages, each sentence is capitalized.
Not so with GBoard and yWriter!
On GBoard from inside either Messages or yWriter, I can access the gear icon just above the keyboard. There's a bunch of items for Gboard settings.
Text correction options include "Smart Compose" but I don't know what that means. Auto-correction is turned on. Also turned on: Autospace after punctuation, Auto-capitalization, Double-space period.
The Voice typing setting is a simple "on / off" switch. It doesn't have options, and it doesn't seem to be using the Auto-capitalization feature of Text correction.
Is there any way to get Android yWriter to behave like Google Messages and capitalize my dictated sentences?
Is there an automated way in yWriter to automatically fix this lack of capitalization after the fact? It's a kludge, but it might be sufficient.
Thanks!
