Hi Simon,
I just had the chance to buy the old MacBook Air I had used for work very cheaply and was thinking of using it with yWriter. I realize you said the Mac version is very alpha, but the only thing I planned to do with it is revising scenes, i.e. opening the scene, copying into an RTF editor, doing the editing there, and then copying back. (For those times when you have half an hour and can't/don't want to sit at your desk.) My test on a backup version of the project seemed to turn out ok. Would you consider that "serious work", or should I be ok?

I'll let you know when I run across bugs.

Tx
Christian

It's fine for that. The code which loads and saves projects (and everything in between) is identical to the Windows version - it's only the UI which is new.

I'm stuck at the moment because my Mac mini is outdated (won't run the latest OS) and every time Apple releases a new OS they make sure their programming language only works with that... and I'm not about to buy a new Mac, either.

They're also doing their hardest to push all software through the Apple store, which is another point against them. (I know Microsoft would love to do the same, but so far they're failing thank goodness!)

Anyway, excuse the rant, but it's annoying when perfectly good hardware is written off for no reason.
