Project Notes - Formatted

I've been away from my project for the past year and just updated to 7.1.5.2 (registered) on Win 11.

I see the project notes are now a pop-up. Is there a way to format them? They just show up as one long text string. What am I missing?

I can take a look at it, but I probably used a routine that suppresses line feeds.  Normally I only use that in chapter and scene titles, as anything after a linefeed wouldn't show.

That's odd, because mine still preserves the formatting. (I'm using the latest Alpha)

It almost looks like the text was saved with LF line endings only, not CRLF.

If you go to an autobackup and extract the project file to a new, empty folder, can you see if that one looks the same?  If it's formatted correctly you can just copy and paste that note into the current project.

I might have misunderstood your suggestion. I extracted a backup created with 7.0.2.5, but it still opens with my current 7.1.5.2 installation. So it looks identical.

I was just trying to find out if the project had changed, or yWriter was displaying it incorrectly.

You can always try the current Alpha to see if that shows it properly.

Thanks for all your help. 

I downloaded the Alpha, but I'm getting the same pop-out box with all the text piled up on itself. It's only the project notes that does this. Characters, Locations, and Items are the way they've always been. 

I can live with it.

I can't reproduce the problem with either version 7.1.5.2 or 7.1.7.1. What happens when you edit your project notes and simply re-enter the line breaks?

Well, that worked. Thank you! I figured I wasn't understanding something.

I tried your suggestion and I was able, at first, to get separate lines back that were widely spaced. Then I tried deleting the last few characters in each line or sentence, then re-typing. And that seems to have worked.

Now I need to spend a little time reformatting all the notes and I should be good to go!
