Hi All,
Please find below an email Catherine Stevens has asked me to send around the Youth Participation sub-group.
Catherine is cc.ed in to this email, so if you have any further questions please reply to her.
Many Thanks

Dear
all
I am writing on behalf of the Steering Committee of the Youth Working Group.
As you may know the Youth Working group has a meeting with PUSS Mike Foster scheduled for 28th October 1.00pm – 1.45pm, to talk through:
· Options for setting up a formal and sustainable mechanism for DfID’s on- going consultation and dialogue with young people at a strategic and policy level, co-ordinated and facilitated by the Youth Working Group
· Renewing the Youth Working Group's Terms of Reference and agreement with DfID to ensure the remit of the group is both relevant and supportive of DfID’s work on youth, and to consider the means by which the Network can be strengthened and its work with DfID enhanced and expanded
· The support the Youth Working Group can offer in developing and providing induction/training for DfID staff on youth issues, including exposure to youth-led/ youth focused work in-country
We would like the Youth Participation sub-group to feed in through:
- ideas you have on point number one (I understand that you’re planning a meeting for 22nd October which would feed in nicely to the above meeting)
- representation at the meeting with Mike Foster (see below).
On representation we would like to ask young people who are part of the Youth Participation Group to put themselves forward to attend the meeting with Mike Foster (along with 2 of the Steering Committee members). We ideally need a young person who:
- has been active in the Youth Working Group and the participation sub group
- is confident and able to communicate clearly on the asks of the YWG
- is available to attend a planning meeting before the 28th Oct (date yet to be set)
- male representatives encouraged to put themselves forward as it’s likely that there will be two female Steering committee members attending
Please get back to me by Monday 19th at 9am if you would like to be considered to attend this meeting
Many thanks
Catherine

Dear all,
I hope you are all keeping well. Thank you to all those who responded to email with dates for the next meeting.
It looks like the most popular date is the 22nd October 2009.
This date may also be the best considering the below email from Jane.
Really sorry to all those who won’t be able to make it. Maybe you could feed in any comments or suggestions you want to make via email before the 22nd.
I hope this is still convenient for all those who said this is the date they could make.
Please let me know if this is no longer the case.
Regards
Ival

Subject: Meeting with Mike Foster
- your input needed on agenda and 'asks'
Hi there
Urgent input needed by 3pm on Monday 20th October – should take 20 mins
As promised from our meeting with Ros this week please find attached a first stab at the agenda for our meeting with Mike Foster. As you know I need to get this to her by Tuesday morning 10am.
A few things on this:
- I have left a space for quick asks and more strategic asks (we have slightly longer to think of these but any ideas now let me know)
- The Youth Participation sub group has a meeting on 22 Oct which I’m hoping to join (or to brief James on this) so that that group can feed in also (it’s also being emailed to them)
- Ros emphasised we need to keep this meeting at a strategic level
- We still need to decide who will attend at the moment it’s myself (likely Helen but maybe Nivi), plus one or two members of the Youth Participation sub group (a few have it in their diary and they will decide next week). We’ll agree on this next week and have a briefing/ practice run together before the meeting.
- I was thinking of also sending this to Helen G for her advice
Looking forward to input from at least a few of you on the attached (track changes or comments both fine)
Thanks so much
Catherine
