a few notes from yesterdays meeting

Thanks to all those who were able to attend the meeting yesterday. It was very productive.

 

Just thought I would flag up a few things that were discussed.

 

·         Hannah, along with Catherine Stevens and Helen Jones will be attending a meeting with Mike Foster on the 28^th October 2009. She has already sent out an email about this so if anyone has anything they think should be brought up at the meeting please let Hannah know by Monday.

 

·         27^th November 2009 3 -5pm – The steering group will be holding an open meeting to elect the new steering committee. As we have said that we would like young people to be a part of the steering group. We will need to let young people know. It was suggested that Ival and Jane create an advert and get out to all young people who have been involved with the youth working group at some point.  We also said that one of the young people on steering group should come from the youth participation sub group.

 

·         We realise the need for a recruitment drive to get a wide and diverse group of young people as part of the YWG. So we have decided to have a recruitment drive day at the end of January. For now Alex and Hannah will begin the logistics ready for a meeting in December (tbc by the new coordinator – read below).

 

·         It was suggested that there was a need for a coordinator for the sub group to make sure the group stays alive and to keep the meetings going etc. We said the coordinator should come from someone who has already been a part of the sub group. The role would only be for 6months in the 1^st instance while we get ourselves more together.

 

So the question is.. Who would like to take up this role???

 

It would be good if we can clarify who this person is by the end of next week.

Hi All,

Just to say I'm interested in this coordinator position. Sorry I was unable to attend the last meeting, I have been away on the Student Stop AIDS Speaker Tour, which has been brilliant.

I have had a quick read through all the emails I have been sent and will look through them all in greater detail this evening.
