Hello Y-Vision Members,

Its good to see that candidates in the next election are begining to set new strategies. All the candidates will come up with with different strategies, and not just one, but the important question to ask is which one has the vision that can drive this nation. Mr. Ralph Reganvanu is not a young leader, he has a lot of experience. Age is not the issue - but how competent you are as a leader. But, again, competency alone must not be completly relied on. A persons character is the most important factor. The hallmark of a good leader is assesed by  "what a person does when no one is looking"(Farid Youssef -GLI).

Our aim is to develop well our and then leaders will run to us not us run to them blindly, without any development. We still have nothing to show people out there. So do not mention Y-Vision to the public yet.

Regards,

Francis.

I think the most important factor that we should be considering here
is our potentials that is what we are capable of doing. The first step
that we need to be doing here is to show the nation that we are a body
that someone can lean to. How to we do that? We need to walk that talk
not talk the walk, in fact this is one of the reason why MP Ralph
became very successful in a very short time during his political
carrier. He develops in him, a potential that no other political
leaders ever have in the history of politics in Vanuatu. That is why
everyone is eying him not just Vanuatu but around the globe. Let mi
elaborate further here with an example. We cannot see any changes in
our education system or development in our country if we go out
campaigning or throwing out awareness and expecting the nation to
listen and carry out changes. We are to set things in to practice and
develop ways in which to help make these changes, that is provides
aids from our own pocket if we have to, to gain trust from the people.
It will be a hell waste of time to try and invested in our character
and try to be Mr…..goody …….goody trust me there is no Mr.
goody…….goody in our little world, take for example Abraham and Moses
from the Old Testament times. What kind of people were they what
character to they have. Of course Moses was a murderer and Abraham was
not a honest person yet God used them to fulfill his purpose. WHY?
Because God saw a potential in them that no one else have, not their
character. That is why he chooses them because he trusts them to do
the job that he has in mind. To be honest I believe in people with
great potential, people who can get job done, I don’t dwell in a
person’s character.

Thought for thought

Take it easy guys its weekend

Hello Y-Vision Members,

Its wonderful, when we discuss our topics. Through them we learn more and gain more understanding to where we are going and why we do things differently.

Thank you Sum for bringing the story of Moses. Moses is a good example of the danger that Y-V may be faced with if we do not build our character. Before Moses killed the soldier, he was already chosen to be the person that was ordained to save the Israelite s and  lead them out of Egypt. Y-V also is ordained to lead our people to new solutions to escape the current problems of education and economic systems.

Danger:

The story now zooms into the importance of character building. The character that Moses did not develop was restraint and patience. He had a Temper problem that he did not spend enough time to find ways to overcome it. Thus, when he saw his people being treated harshly by the guards, his temper overtook him and he killed him. thus, in order to save himself, he escaped and went into hiding for 40 years. The Bible does not mention anything about what happened to him during those 40 years, but only comes in after the 40 years had ended. The story goes on to say that he went back and carried on what he was ordained and appointed by God to do. Therefore, the moral of the stroy is that there was a delay of 40 years which was caused by his short temperedness. If he had learned patience to cure his short temperedness he would not have committed the murder, and becuase he was already in a high poistion at the phero's palace he would have taken out his people easily. Thus he still acheieved what he was called to do, but he took the long way and not the short cut because he did not develop his character properly.

The Principal of the story is: Building character is important becuase we do not want ot be faced with a situation where we have to delay our Y-V delivery of solutions to the people because of a character failure in values. Thus, we have to learn patience and go slowly to develop and increase our characters when we still have the time and chance. When the time comes, there is no time to train anymore.  Therefore, if we want Y-V to move fast and not delay for 20 years, we have to keep our unity, co-operation and see the same picture so that we are strong in the inside to make choices that benefit the nation of Vanuatu. We, the Y-V are a new breed of leaders for tomorrow because we will develop and have good values that we live by. Out of a platform of good character, we will produce policies, and economic solutions that do not come from our selfish ambitions. So good works flow out from good character. Our actions in the future will prove this, and not only our words. So, the people of Vanuatu rely on our each individual development right now.

Excellent contributions everybody. Keep it up.

Regards,

Francis.

hello team,

Thanks Francis, you were right Moses was chosen before he murder the
Egyptian, according to the holy word. The fact is Moses did not
realized the danger he was stepping into until it was too late. when
he suddenly realized the mess he got himself into he was afraid so he
escape Egypt.

when a child is brought up her parents threw stone at her and expected
her to change but he never did, because they didn't realize what they
were causing( Answer:They were giving her the wrong remedy). My point
is it is more appropriate for our group to stop preaching about
"character" instead developed a practical habit or ways of advising or
i would say encouraging the group to make a change in character. Our
group will one day build a very strong leadership if we developed the
habit of encouraging and advising each other.

Take for example i won't expect to defuse a person if i started
calling him names, it will only make matters worse.I believe this is
one of the main reason behind the political corruption in Vanuatu.
Because our political leaders cannot deploy ways to encourage each
other for a better change, instead they came out hard on each other.

I believe there is no one perfect in our group so to use a word like
"character" is little too harsh for a good leadership point of view.
it will be much more appropriate to stop calling character rather ask
the question (How?, What? ways) for the group to deploy in order to
implement a better group image else will step into it before we
realize it.

Thanks chairmen and members, lets developed a firm leadership.

Hello Y-V Members,

Thankyou Sum and others,

You've nailed and highlighted the point of the  "practicality". Praticality is one of our characteristics. When we say character, we are not referring to goody, goody, stuffs but the DNA of Y-Vision.

Y-V members have characteristics of "practiclity". We proved this point when we planned to re-structure Y-V, and then followed through with meetings and wrote up our mission and objective statements and increased our network capacity in logistics in 2 countries. Thus, if any outsider counts the number of meetings we've had and the serious stuffs we have achieved, he will simply state that -" olgeta yia ol 'practicle' yangfala. Oli talem samting then oli mekem."

The practicle thing we can do is to bring proposed solutions through trial and error by methods of research. We can discuss how, which areas to focus, during the coming weeks. In this past months we have been mainting our DNA character of relationships. We turn up to meetings and increasse our understandings in where Y-V is heading.

The last thing for us to always remeber is that we should not assume that we know we where we are heading. There has never been a strong group of young people like us in Vanuatu, so we cannot compare ourselves to any other groups. We are a pioneering team, gong into unchartered waters. That is why, the solutions that we will come up with are built for the conditions that Vanuatu has not experienced yet. We still do not know what type of solutions that we can come up with. Once, one of us comes up with an idea to focus on then we will work on it. It will not take overnight but one day when our solution is ready, and we present these documents... our governments will run for it and turn it into policies that will affect and change the lives of every lives in our Nation. NGO's will hire us as consultants, and other governments will adopt our policies in their regions. That is why, remaining neutral and hidden in the moment is very, very important.
If Y-V is identified with a political group, the negative consequences is that it will limit us because, NGO's do not fund and work with groups associated with Political Parties. (I'm not saying we do not join Ralph, we just don't use Y-V when we are inside political stuffs. Infact, when Ralph was starting his campaign in the last election, there was an incident in Namburu Park where he was chased with his 15 yangfala supporteers by Patric Crowby's people. I was one of them. Colosap mifala i karem han lo night ya. Ralph i bin ron wetem hailer blo hem....funny story ia ating nogat fulap man i save. So, yes, we've been there and experienced some stuff. But always remeber, Y-V is not a political group. Support whatever party u want but never say u come on behalf of Y-V.

Any way....Happy studies everyone.

Francis
