Luke 22:52-53 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders, who had come for him, "Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs? Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour--when darkness reigns." (NIV)
Prayer: Dear Lord God. I hesitate to thank You for those times when it seems that evil will win the day, but Your Word tells me to give thanks in all circumstances. Help me not to be discouraged or crushed, but to take the example of the Lord Jesus as evidence that such tests are only temporary, and for those who keep trusting, the glory is eternal. Help me also to strengthen and comfort my brothers and sisters in Christ when they face dark days, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
