In this issue:
This year Guru Purnima was celebrated on July 29th. It is a day given over to the remembrance of
the sage Ved Vyas. This edition covers an article on the significance of Guru and Guru Purnima in Hindu culture. We continue with the series on the 10 Terrific questions and answers on Hinduism. This edition covers the question 'Are Hindus forbidden to eat meat?'. Later in the issue we further talk about Vegetarianism and explain how some of the worlds best athletes could achieve great physical strength and be vegetarian at the same time. South Asian groups are very active on college campuses. What does it mean to be 'South Asian' as opposed to Hindu or Indian? This question is dealt with on page 3. Does the Hindu thought provide a solution to the problem of Global Warming? Know more about it on pages 4 and 5.

Tattva's 1st Birthday next month
The 1st Anniversary edition of Tattva will be released next month
i.e. on 1st September. This edition will be released in print along
with the regular online issue. The print copies of Tattva will be
distributed in colleges across USA. We are hoping to cover articles
from a wide range of issues and from various geographical regions.
There are several ways that you can help us in making this issue a success:
- Send in articles for this special edition
- Do you know someone who can contribute an article for this issue?
- Is there any email list/forum you know, where Tattva can be publicized? Please send us the details.
- Do you have any suggestions for the content/style of this issue?
- Send in your feedback about how you have liked Tattva so far, and what you would like it to cover in future.
