Lousy AT&T 3G/Edge service is why I hesitate to use Map Kit in Aquí

So it's been a couple of weeks since Aquí 1.01 has been released and I'm starting to get back to working on new features for 1.02. Among them is the notion that Aquí should show you a map of where you currently are. It's a common feature and one that I deliberately left out for two reasons:
Aquí was built before iPhone 3.0 OS was released with API support for Google Maps (Map Kit); I knew it was coming so why reinvent the wheel.
Lousy AT&T 3G/Edge service makes you wait far too long for the map data to come in before you are able to send your GPS location out.
Reason 2 is really why Map Kit support in Aquí is not there, even though it would be relatively easy to do. But the dependency on AT&T's 3G service gives me pause because of its latency and lack of availability.
