october trail days

This summer, Whitehorse joined the ranks of a very small and elite
group of Canadian municipalities that have a trail crew dedicated to
maintaining and enhancing the urban and backcountry non-motorized
trail network. We're on track to develop a world-class network on par
with renowned destinations such as Whistler.

You can help ensure the good work continues. Contagious Mountain Bike
Club, the Sportslife Thursday night runners, and the City of
Whitehorse are co-hosting a series of volunteer trail work days this
October. Please come, bring your friends & family, and send a strong
message to Mayor and Council that our trails are worth their continued
investment next year. There will be prizes for best trail names and
most dedicated volunteer, plus snacks and warm drinks.

Details below:

DATES: October 12, 18, and 25 (last day may be cancelled if there's
snow)
TIMES: 12 - 4 p.m.
MEETING PLACE: October 12 - Long Lake parking area (other locations
TBA)
BRING: "hard" rakes suitable for groundwork, pulaskis, picks, work
gloves, boots
