All,

I just released version 1.5.0 of the personalization tool.

From the NEWS file :

* Version 1.5.0 (released 2011-03-09)

An additional binary (ykchalresp) to perform challenge-response was
added.

When generating keys from passphrase, generate 160 bit keys for modes
that support it (OATH-HOTP and HMAC challenge response).

OATH-HOTP usability improvements.

Serial number of YubiKey (2.2+) is shown with `ykpersonalize -v'.

Make `configure' detect FreeBSD 8 libusb implementation.

Thanks. I've just uploaded this to Debian.

It seems like the man page for ykchalresp went AWOL. I've attached a
patch that adds it since github's pull request is weird for me, probably
due to my repo starting out as a git-svn repo. If you merge all my
other bits I might give just basing my repo off yours properly so pull
requests work better.

I'm also attaching a de-swedieshism patch ;-) ; fixes a typo

In addition, we have a small patch to the man page explaining what
modhex is, it's also attached. I suppose you want to drop the debian/
part of it.

Last, we have a patch updating the URL for the Yubikey manual to the
September release. However, it would be better if we could just have a
completely stable URL on the Yubico web site that can live in
ykpersonalize.1.

Regards,

Right, forgot to add it to Makefile.am - fixed. Thanks.

Heh, I really am Swedish. I had to look at it four or five times to spot the change =). Applied.

Thanks, applied with some extra line breaks.

September release.  However, it would be better if we could just have a
completely stable URL on the Yubico web site that can live in

The man-page had two different links to the manual in it -

  http://static.yubico.com/var/uploads/pdfs/YubiKey_Manual_2010-09-16.pdf and
  http://yubico.com/files/YubiKey_manual-2.0.pdf -

both resulting in the same file.

We've had internal talks about getting forever stable URLs (which we of course want to have) but haven't really concluded on how to really achieve that yet, but the latter looked much more promising to me so I changed the 2010-09-16 URL into that.

Am I missing something you are saying, or shouldn't this remove the need for that patch of yours? I'm really crossing my fingers here about which URL will be possible to keep forever, but no one remembers a coward =).

:-)

It would remove the need unless you remove that file when you release a
Yubikey 3 or 4 or 5,
