One of the most common, COPPA-approved methods used for verifying identity is to charge or authorize a small amount to a credit card. The credit card transaction proves your identity. That process is handled by our verification provider Kids Web Services, in accordance with their own Privacy Policy, meaning your credit card information will NOT be shared with Niantic. Your credit card will NOT be used for any other purpose.
In the US, another method used for verifying your identity is to check your name, date of birth, mailing address, and the last 4 digits of your social security number against government records. When a game requests to access information from your child, this request comes through the Niantic Kids Parent Portal, and notify you via email. You can check the details of the information being requested and deny or allow it.
We comply with this requirement through the Niantic Kids Parent Portal with a verification and consent process handled by Kids Web Services. In order to do so, Kids Web Services requires certain personal information about you to prove you are really you and to block anyone trying to impersonate you. Devotedto improving the well-being of our state's children, youth and their families,KIDS COUNT in Delaware has been using highly credible research, data collectionand education to inform change on behalf of children for more than 25 years.
KIDS COUNT is a national and state-by-state effort by the Annie E. Casey Foundation to track the well-being of children in the United States. KIDS COUNT in Delaware, a project of the Center for Community Research & Service, is a collaborative effort of over forty organizations to enrich local and state discussion concerning ways to secure better lives for all children by providing policy makers and citizens with benchmarks of child well-being. All data collected by KIDS COUNT in Delaware are available in the online, interactive KIDS COUNT Data Center.
The KIDS COUNT in Delaware 2024 FOCUS book describes the relationship between data, policy, and leadership and details the interconnectedness of decisions we make at the polls to outcomes children experience. With an election on the horizon, this is an especially timely issue.
This year's book spotlights public policy decisions connected to the impact they've made as shown in data and offers lessons learned which can be utilized in future decision making. Among the policy examples shared, there are themes that repeat and lessons learned which resonate. Specifically:
The book also suggests questions which individuals can ask candidates running for office, to better understand their priorities with respect to Delaware's youngest. Engaging in conversation about a prospective leader's priorities, vision for the future, and policy ideas for enacting that vision is one way to gauge whether they will best represent one's own values once elected.
Facts on Children Underlying Success (FOCUS) This is our second year with a new name. FOCUS refers to the idea that we are using indicators to tell a story of Delaware kids around a specific theme. This year, that theme is "impact of COVID-19" as demonstrated by data. As always, for a more comprehensive listing of data on child and family well-being in Delaware, check out the KIDS COUNT Data Center
The online KIDS COUNT Data Center offers data on education, employment and income, poverty, health and youth at-risk factors. We invite you to discover ways to customize the data and join us in using this data to make informed decisions by investing in Delaware's biggest asset, our kids.
