PlsI need help,I brought single $100 and single $50 apple gift card at Walmart this morning, and the both cards has incomplete code , instead of 16 digits code ,they got 14 digits code ,pls want them get completed for me so that I can make used of them right now.

Every time I reset my Apple password, System Prefs pops up on my MacBook Pro, telling me that iCloud needs the password too. So far, so good. I put in the password and it asks for a verification code that's been sent to my phone. Also fine. The code turns up on my phone. The problem is - there's then nowhere to put in this verification code. I'm left staring at the System Prefs window that says "An Apple ID verification code is required. Type your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices." But there's no field. I can't even try to re-enter the password. The only icons I can select are "Account Details" or "Sign Out" which are both useless. Incredibly frustrating. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Damian,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. I understand you've had some trouble using two-Factor verification, and I have some information that may help.

It sounds like you may be trying to enter your verification code on an older OS. Have a look at the excerpt from the article below for some helpful information.

Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

If you use two-factor authentication with devices running older OS versions, you might be asked to add your six-digit verification code to the end of your password when signing in. Get your verification codefrom a trusted device running iOS 9 and later or OS X El Capitan and later, or have it sent to your trusted phone number. Then type your password followed by the six-digit verification code directly into the password field.

I've just managed to solve it by getting the code, quickly shutting down System Prefs entirely, and re-opening it so the password box appears. Bizarre and frustrating that an OS only four years old has such an obvious flaw.

I've managed to solve the problem by getting the code sent to my phone, quickly shutting down System Prefs entirely, then re-booting it so I can access the password field again. I don't know what people would do if they also have an older iPhone though.

This worked for me on my old iphone 4 just now. Thank you for the tip in your response to Eric Root. You do have to quit Settings (swiping up on Settings to get rid of it after double-clicking home button) and then open it again and then enter your Apple ID password and 6-digit verification code one after the other in the password slot.

I'm doing updates to apps on my iPad and it's saying that it needs to update my payment info and it won't accept my security code. It worked before and I made recent purchases. I put in the credit card info fresh and I still get the same error. I wonder if this is related to my iCloud's corruption issues. Thanks for any help!

Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base, before you post a question.

For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you are (and therefore the country which is on your iTunes account).

It says I had a problem with a previous purchase and I must update my credit card info. But when I put it all in then it doesn't take it. Can you help? I tried to do the steps you provided but no solution

Awww that's too bad. That's like saying I have to have a certain credit score to purchase apps. It also makes me pay interest if I'm not careful. That interest could be used to buy more apps. I hope Apple changes their policy.

"Invalid security code" error means your card issuer isn't authorizing iTunes to use the card. The error is actually a general error and doesn't necessarily mean you're typing in the wrong CVV. It can be caused by a security hold on your card that may only be affecting iTunes purchases, insufficient funds, actually typing in the wrong CVV, or other issues but only your bank can tell you why this is happening. When you get a prompt saying there is a billing issue with a previous purchase, it means that your bank or credit card company didn't authorize iTunes to receive payment for something purchased with your account. When you try to update payment info, iTunes is asking permission to receive payment from your card issuer, and they're not authorizing that.

I have an early version of the Apple TV and every time I try to sign into iTunes it asks for a verification code. Once I receive a code on my iPhone there is no place to enter the code when I enter my password. Please help.

Hi. Try getting a code first using Settings on your trusted device, as described here Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support. Then login on Apple TV, adding the code to the end of the password, no space or punctuation. Just for reference, please identify your Apple TV version, see Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support.

There's an update to this. Please see this link: Re: appleTV keeps asking for appleID, password and authentication code circularly. The trick is to enter Apple ID and password, but keep them on the screen. Then, use Settings on your trusted device to get a code, and quickly add the code to the password, not space or punctuation. This lets you beat the timeout on the code, which is only about 30 seconds.

If that does not help, please describe your problem in more detail. What device/app are you trying to AirPlay from? Is this your home Apple TV or one in a conference room? What model Apple TV? What software version?

Xcode 15 is now 50% smaller on the Mac App Store, with downloadable simulator runtimes for all platforms. Enhanced code completion helps you write safer code faster, now referencing all your assets. And projects build faster thanks to improvements in the compiler and a brand-new linker, optimized for the multicore architecture of Apple silicon.

The new Bookmark navigator helps you keep track of landmarks in your code and organize your tasks. Localization assets are streamlined in the new String Catalog, giving you a centralized way to review and update them. And documentation shines in Xcode 15, with a beautiful new design, and real-time preview.

Swift, SwiftUI, and Xcode 15 work together as one. Powered by the new Swift macros, Xcode Previews are easier to use and now work across SwiftUI, UIKit, and AppKit. The new interactive timeline helps you develop and design your widgets. And working with different platforms and devices is easier: you can choose them right in the preview canvas to make sure your views look great everywhere.

Xcode 15 and Xcode Cloud work seamlessly together. Xcode Cloud is a continuous integration and delivery service built into Xcode and designed expressly for Apple developers. Start building your app in just a few minutes, with live build status, beautiful reports, and automatic distribution to your testers and users.

I tried to stream from the apple tv app onto my tv, apple airplay asked for a code. Where do I get this code from? The TV does not need a code for netflix and other apps. Only apple tv asks for this when trying to airplay from my iphone. This is not for the hardware, this is for streaming from the app.

If you don't have the physical remote for the Apple TV, you will bot be able to complete the remote app setup. You need to navigate to the Remote setup in the Apple TV Settings->General->Remote menu to get that particular code.

I changed my Apple ID password on the web and my iPhone received a text message saying "Your Apple ID code is: xxxxxx. Don't share it with anyone." xxxxxx is a 6-digit code. What is this code and when is it used? I can login to my devices with my passcode which is different from this Apple ID code. So what is it?

It sounds like your account was upgraded to two-factor authentication. This is the highest level of security available for your Apple ID and will help to ensure that nobody gains unauthorized access to your account and data. When you sign in to a new device for the first time, it will require both your password and that six-digit code. This ensures that someone with your password won't be able to get into the account, as it requires that extra layer of security.
