- the universe where Awful grows up like Shine and is her favorite baby butch
- Howard comes into his own as a member of the family, and we find out more details of what that actually means for him as a human-shaped person
- what happens in the formerly-farmed city now that all of the people moving the secret levers of the society have been taken away
- an investigative journalist who is onto the city farmers and about to break the news when the novel happens
- this crew is zany enough and has enough interesting talents to pull a fascinating heist
- Howard and/or Awful go to visit Hathaway, who takes them to some of the interesting sites in his favored time period
- Torquil introduces his family members to some of the fabulous people he knows and it's a party instead of a full-frontal assault, possibly with full-frontal of a different type

- if you can get a full story out of Sidhe-who-are-like-animals having animalistic traits in bed, I salute you and I want to read it
