<b>General likes</b> Any rating/pairing you care to write would be excellent. I enjoy a wide variety of things, including but not limited to fluff, angst, smut, hurt/comfort, canon-typical violence, aliens, xeno, bodily transformation, wholesome romance, humor, utter misery, women supporting women, and darker/toxic romance. I'm fine with pregnancy (including mpreg for non-human characters/modified human characters), parenthood, and family themes. I'm happy with putting characters through abuse as long as there is a happy ending--or, at least, the <i>possibility</i> of an eventual happy ending!
<b>What I love about this fandom:</b> I am grossly in love with this film. The worldbuilding is soooooo so good, and the moments of dark humor are excellent. I adore Wikus's devotion to Tania and the dissonance there--that Wikus can treat her so gently and still seems to hold next to zero compassion for the prawns. Horrific body transformations fascinate me, and I love how hilariously awful Wikus's situation is. Wikus's slow shift from self-interest to the willingness to self-sacrifice towards the end is lovely. I also love stories (like this one) where the protagonist is forced to choose from a set of terrible options, with no obvious easy solution. Prompts-wise, I am a big filthy shipper and I would absolutely adore Wikus paired with either Christopher or Tania (or both, if you can make that work!). I love the thought of poor Wikus stuck on Earth trying to communicate with Tania after his transformation, or something slightly AUish (what if Christopher stayed for a time, or what if Wikus left with Christopher? Alternately, what if Christopher comes back?). If you wanted to focus on Wikus alone that would be fine too. I'd be fascinated to read more about his transformation, or even about his brief stint as an unwilling medical experiment in the MNU labs. <b>General DNWs</b> Noncon/sexual violence against women, on-screen domestic violence (mentions are ok), portrayal of women as helpless victims, women's bodies portrayed as unpleasant/nasty, child abuse, explicit underage (<16 years), scat, main character death, unrequested gender headcanons (i.e. cis characters should remain cis and agender characters should remain agender), 1st or 2nd person, poetry (snippets are fine), unrequested AUs, no-hope endings, miscarriage/abortion, traumatic childbirth/PPD (please note that I'm fine with realistically unpleasant portrayals of childbirth; I am specifically DNWing intense and lingering mental/physical trauma linked to childbirth), unhappy endings.
<b>Fandom-specific DNWs:</b> No-hope endings! I don't mind taking fic in a very dark direction (it'd be hard to avoid in this fandom tbh), but I want at least a glimmer of hope at the end. Tania being hopelessly disgusted by prawn Wikus is also a DNW, as is Wikus shipped with anyone not Chris or Tania. Finally, I would like to DNW pure fluff in this fandom; fic on the fluffy side is totally fine, but I'd like there to be at least some conflict/angst mixed in.
<b>Fandom-specific notes:</b> There's a lot of fanon in District 9 and different takes based on the deleted material, the promotional material, etc. I don't mind if you stick to fanon, ignore it, or deviate from it with your own interpretations!

<b>What I love about this fandom:</b> The worldbuilding and the Riding Women above all! I also enjoy just how complicated and <i>messy</i> it all is, and how there are, alas, never any easy answers. Neither the Free Fems nor the Riding Women are especially willing or able to help Alldera the conqueror, and when Alldera does succeed in liberating the fems of Holdfast, it ends in an entirely new set of injustices for the men and boys. I love Alldera and the others who escaped confronting how profoundly being enslaved has scarred and shaped them into people they'd rather not be, perhaps. As far as prompts go, I am absolutely wild to know more about what happened to the Riding Women after the series! How does Sheel find them, and how is she welcomed? I'd also love to know more about the different pockets of humanity that survived, and the handful of different animals that made it through the fall of civilization/mass extinction...that air of cautious optimism and rediscovery at the conclusion of the series is so sweet, and I want to see this fragile little society beginning to unfurl! I'd also love anything expanding on canon. Seeing Alldera learn to ride or picking up new skills with the Riding Women would be a joy. More about the culture of the Riding Women would be fantastic, too! Grim as it was, digging into the Holdfast at its peak would be interesting, especially prior to/just at the beginning of the lammin harvest failure due to the cleansing of the ocean. Something that focuses more on ecosystem recovery and the cleansing of the ocean itself would be fascinating, too (perhaps in that one town with the gators), because I am nothing if not a slut for ecological restoration. <b>What I love about this fandom:</b> The worldbuilding and detail are just fantastic. My favorite season is by far the first, with the increasingly disorienting mix of timelines as Dolores finds her way out of that maze...ahhh, it's beautiful. The strong female characters are just catnip to me, too. I want to watch Dolores and Maeve set the world on fire, even if they set me on fire along with it. ANYTHING set in or around season 1 with Maeve and/or Dolores would be incredible. Maeve is my favorite, and Dolores is a close second. I'd love both of them in the same fic (general or in a shippy context, either is quite fine with me), but I would also be delighted with a fic featuring only Maeve if you can't fit Dolores in. Something exploring their history together would be fun. Maybe previous plotlines that they don't remember, in which they were friends, lovers, or enemies. Maybe some simple flirtation, or idle gossip! Or an AU of Maeve and Dolores playing roles in an entirely different world? Orrrr, something focused on Maeve's awesome and extremely badass escape! Honestly, if it's got Maeve in it I am so here for it. More detailed prompts will be in my <a href="http://fishdip.dreamwidth.org/2023/10/20/" rel="nofollow">letter</a> if you care to have a look!
