Britannia (TV 2017)
DNWs: A/B/O, Noncon (brief references are okay), Dubcon involving unaroused characters, Incest, Bestiality (monsters don't count here), Scat and waterplay, Formalised D/s dynamics (bondage and other forms of restraint are OK), Underage, Het anal sex, Breathplay (antagonistic choking is fine), Fisting, Sexualised lactation, Any variation of the word 'come' in a sexual context spelled as 'cum' (please use 'come', 'came', 'precome' etc)
DNW note: Please note that my Underage DNW is waived for Cait in fics set during and after the events of season 3, and that my incest DNW is waived for Drella/Hella and Phelan/Kerra.
If you want to write about Drella & Hella and explore whatever the hell their deal is, then it’s fine not to include any of the nominated characters. Same goes for a fic about Willa and Veran which follows what happens to them post the attack on the Roman villa in season 3.
~~
There are so many things about this fandom that I'd love to see explored, including character studies, scenery porn, elements of horror, something exploring the creepy ambiguities of magic and the supernatural, smut, complicated questions of loyalty and betrayal, canon-divergence, Bad Guys Win!AUs, and hurt/comfort... That's a non-exhaustive list. XD
My main ships for this fandom are Lucius/Aulus, Lucius/Antedia and Aulus/Kerra, all of which I ship like burning, but I also have a LOT of secondary ships. For Cait post-season 3, I ship Cait/Aulus, Cait/Lucius, and also one-sided pining on Divis's side. But, honestly, I'm a huge multi-shipper, so if there's a ship you want to write about that doesn't break my DNWs, then I stongly encourage you to go for it.
I'd love to see something that delves into what happens after season three, whether canon-compliant or otherwise, or something which digs a little deeper into the supernatural aspects of the world -- I love how ambiguous it all is, and the way the show treads the line between maintaining a rational (ish) explanation between going all out on the creepy visuals. I also love the way it veers between genres,

Bergerac (TV)
Jim Bergerac (Bergerac), Barney Crozier (Bergerac)
DNWs: A/B/O, Noncon (brief references are okay), Dubcon involving unaroused characters, Incest, Bestiality (monsters don't count here), Scat and waterplay, Formalised D/s dynamics (bondage and other forms of restraint are OK), Underage, Het anal sex, Breathplay (antagonistic choking is fine), Fisting, Sexualised lactation, Any variation of the word 'come' in a sexual context spelled as 'cum' (please use 'come', 'came', 'precome' etc)
Fandom-specific DNWs: The requested characters cheating on their wives/girlfriends/each other. (For Barney Crozier, an AU where he’s divorced/separated/never married and Alice Crozier is barely mentioned would work.) References to the canonical one-night stand between Jim and Philippa Vale are fine though.
AND:
- Jim Bergerac being abusive. (I don’t mind a realistic portrayal of his flaws, particularly if the focus is on the time when he’s still drinking, but please no deliberate abusive behaviour or violence, although him being rougher than he realises when he’s drinking, even to the point of accidentally causing bruises, is okay. If you’re not sure where the line lies, then please err on the side of assuming it’s fine.)
AND
- If the focus is on Alice/Barney then I would prefer there to be a happy ending.
For fics focusing on Alice/Barney, it's fine to not mention Jim at all in the fic. For Barney/Debbie, it's fine to not have Jim actually appear, although I'd still prefer that there be some focus on him.
~~
I'm currently completely hooked on this, which is a bit of a nostalgia show for me. Bergerac is a very long-running show, but if it helps at all, the character development runs at a glacial pace, so I think it would be more than possible to write for after only having seen a limited number of episodes. See my letter for a short list of my favourite episodes, including the ones which I think are most relevant to the relationship between my requested characters. (Also, if you write for my Alice/Barney Crozier ship, she's only in four episodes and is barely mentioned, otherwise). I'm also fine with canon divergence from any point.
I absolutely adore Jim and Barney, and I am completely drawn to the relationship between them, which veers from friendly to mutually bitter to semi-hostile and fraught. They're just so *bitter* about each other at times and the show manages to hint at a backstory between them, without ever quite spelling things out and I would just love to know more about them.
My main ships for this show, and the ones which I would like to receive ship-fic for, are Jim/Barney, Barney/Debbie and Barney/Alice. For fics which are primarily gen or not entirely focused on the ship, it’s fine for any of the canon relationships or flirtations to appear. I like all of Jim’s girlfriends, with a special soft spot for Frankie for calling him out on his shit, and I adore Debbie and Kim.
While I ship Jim/Barney pretty damn hard, I’d also love to read gen fic that focuses on their canon relationship, that’s mixture of semi-hostility and friendliness, trust and mistrust, and a fraught shared history which is alluded to every now and then, usually in relation to Jim’s drinking and the sense that Bergerac is a little resentful of Barney getting promoted above him. Ultimately they’ve (mostly) got each other’s back and all the resentment and trust issues just makes me ship it harder.
For Barney/Debbie, I’m drawn to the headcanon of them being the two people (other than Kim) most hurt by Jim’s drinking, and would love to see them drawn together by that, whether it happens before or after Jim and Debbie's divorce. My Cheating DNW does not apply to these two, but I'd love to see something fraught and guilty, whether or not it's technically adultery. Or alternatively, something heartwarming and sweet, where Jim is kiiiiind of okay with it, or is at least trying to be, even if it's weird as fuck sometimes.
For Barney/Alice, I’d love to see something sweet, maybe an exploration of two long-term married middle-aged people trying to reconnect with each other, and I'd especially appreciate seeing a bit more of Alice.

The Detectives (TV 1993)
David Briggs (The Detectives (TV 1993)), Bob Louis (The Detectives (TV 1993))
DNWs: A/B/O, Noncon (brief references are okay), Dubcon involving unaroused characters, Incest, Bestiality (monsters don't count here), Scat and waterplay, Formalised D/s dynamics (bondage and other forms of restraint are OK), Underage, Het anal sex, Breathplay (antagonistic choking is fine), Fisting, Sexualised lactation, Any variation of the word 'come' in a sexual context spelled as 'cum' (please use 'come', 'came', 'precome' etc)
The episodes all seem to be on DailyMotion and the first episode is here:

Pure comfort TV, which I’ve secretly been wishing had fanfic for far too bloody long. For those who aren’t familiar with this series, it’s a comedy show from the 90s about two incompetent detectives, which goes pretty hard on references to other crime shows. I grew up watching it, and it still makes me laugh too fucking hard given how silly it can be.
Unfortunately, like a lot of 90s sitcoms, it can be a bit near the knuckle by today’s standards and their behaviour around women can occasionally be uncomfortable. The worst examples start midway through season 4 onwards, especially the ending of The Wembley Stadium Mystery. I also recommend skipping the season 5 episode Curse of the Comanches completely.
My favourite thing about the series, and which I'd especially love to see in a fic, will forever be all the references to other crime shows: the Bergerac crossover! The ‘what would Inspector Morse do’ bit in the first episode! The Rear Window spoof! Every time someone sarcastically refers to them as Starsky & Hutch or Bodie & Doyle! I'd love to see case fic, whether fully realised or just background snippets. Humour is hugely welcome too, although the bits I find funniest are less the OTT set pieces than the bits where the characters are interacting. Oh, and all the background minutiae of their jobs: football quizzes and Subutteo tournaments and all the messy shit that goes on at work parties. Also apparently I remain a sucker for lonely sad-sack middle-aged men with non-existent love lives.
I'd also love to see something capturing the dynamic between Bob and Dave (and Cottam, who I haven't requested, but appearances from him will very definitely be welcome too) captured. I ship the two of them, because as far as I'm concerned, they’re perfect for each other, and not just because it wouldn’t be fair to inflict them on anyone else, but I'm here for gen too. They’re both so utterly, gloriously hopeless and I just really enjoy watching their dynamic, the way they bounce off each other, and the line between then being utterly incompetent, while still somehow managing to solve the crime. Even if sometimes it’s despite of, rather than because of, the two of them.

Survivors (TV 1975)
DNWs: A/B/O, Noncon*, Dubcon involving unaroused characters, Incest, Bestiality (monsters don't count here), Scat and waterplay, Formalised D/s dynamics (bondage and other forms of restraint are OK), Underage, Het anal sex, Breathplay (antagonistic choking is fine), Fisting, Sexualised lactation, Any variation of the word 'come' in a sexual context spelled as 'cum' (please use 'come', 'came', 'precome' etc)
*Fandom-specific DNW note: No explicit on-screen noncon, please, but brief references to rape and and canon-style themes of sexual violence are fine to include.
AND
- For future-fic, I headcanon John and Lizzy (and possibly baby Paul too) as potentially ending up in a relationship once they're adults. That's fine, although I would prefer no on-screen sexual content for the aged-up characters.
It looks like a lot of the episodes, if not all, are available on YouTube. The first episode is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAyjkaFYnzE&t=2s (Content warnings for the series as a whole include pressure on women to have babies, bad things happening to children and animals, and the occasional threat of sexual violence (mostly low-level, but there's at least one death which is strongly implied to relate to rape)).
~~
Please note that there’s no need to include any of the nominated characters. I’m open to seeing any characters or aspects of the show explored, including meta-style worldbuilding. And if you’re at all open to crossovers, then I would very probably be willing to sell my soul for a crossover with The Professionals. (If you’re at all interested in doing that, then please do whatever you need to do to get it done. If it helps, one of the prompts in my letter would be doable after only having seen a single more-or-less standalone episode of Survivors).
So far, in my quest for the grimmest piece of seventies British sci-fi, Survivors is winning hands down. XD It is incredibly bleak, and can be tough to watch, particularly these days with everything that’s going on with Covid, but personally I’ve actually found it quite comforting. YMMV, though, and I’m really not kidding: it is grim. I love post-apocalyptic stuff, and I've never really seen anything that does things quite like Survivors does. It's a gem of a series, even if it does have me watching in fascinated horror a lot of the time.
The series ends on a positive note, but there have been enough seeds of doubt laid throughout the series that call that hopeful ending into question. I loved all the philosophical questions the show raises, stuff like personal sacrifice vs loyalty to family, and planning for the long-term future vs what needs to be done for immediate survival. I absolutely adore all four of the nominated characters, flawed though they all are, so I'd love to see some character-studies and competence porn (Greg MacGyvering his way through the apocalypse will forever be one of my favourite things).
Give me shipfic (I'm a dedicated multi-shipper, but I do ship Jenny/Greg hard, as well as bittersweet Jenny/Alec), or slice-of-life, or fill in some of the time skips. Show me what Abby gets up to post-season 1. Or follow on from the end of the series, either in the short-term or centuries down the line. I'd also love to see futurefic for John and Lizzy - what happens to the next generation, and to kids like Paul who've never known any other world? How do they grow up thinking about the virtually sainted Greg Preston? Or give me more glimpses into other communities, or a zombie apocalypse AU. Or follow Charles in the period between the first time we meet him and when we meet him again in series 2. How does he meet Pet? What happened to what was left of his community? Charles is a fascinating character - simultaneously practical, idealistic and at times extremely frustrating, and I love his dynamic with Greg in series 2 and Jenny in series 3.
