Dear pinch hit list,
We're about to send a new batch of pinch hits (#99-129)! Thanks for your interest and support. Please give us your AO3 name if claiming.
Pinch hits failing to send
When we sent out initial pinch hits this year, we hit a limit of sending too many at once - the emails from the admin account arrived at the google group, but then weren't all sent on to the group's members. After they stopped, nothing at all went through for 24 hours. From the documentation we've been able to find, it's not clear whether we tried to send so quickly that we hit a limit that had always been there, which we can fix by pausing between emails, or if there is a new limit this year that kicks in after a certain number of emails (unknown) are sent in a certain time period (unknown).
So it's possible some of the pinch hits we're about to send will be affected by the same problem.
If you receive pinch hits by email and some of pinch hits #99-129 fail to turn up, or a very long time goes by without updates about which pinch hits are claimed, please check the google group. We will update the messages there to show which pinch hits are claimed or unclaimed. If we run into issues there, we will post to Dreamwidth. We may also post to Dreamwidth with updates as to which pinch hits are still available if we can't get that information out by email.

Deadline
All previous pinch hits, #1-98, were due at the main assignment deadline of 9am UTC 18 December. Pinch hits from this point, numbers #99 and up, are due at 9am UTC 20 December.
If we assign a pinch hit to you on AO3, the line in the assignment email that immediately follows your recipient's last request will still say that it's due on 18 December, because that's automatic text generated according to the times and dates set at the collection. However, further on in that part of the assignment email, we give the actual deadline of 9am UTC 20th, including links to show when it is for you and what the countdown is. We hope that helps. If at any point you're unsure about when something is due, please check with us directly.
