New Yuletide Pinch Hit Process

Dear pinch hitters,

Sign-ups for Yuletide 2024 close in 5 days at 9pm UTC 18 October - here's a countdown.

This year, we’re changing the way we advertise pinch hits.

In 2022 and 2023, we had difficulties sending out pinch hit emails to you because Gmail throttled our messages when we sent too many too quickly - and wouldn’t tell us the actual thresholds for “too many” and “too quickly”.  Because of this, we are trying something new.

We will continue to send alerts to this group when a new batch of pinch hits is available. However, instead of the full text of a request, each email will contain a summary of several pinch hits, and will link to a Dreamwidth post with the full details of each request.

These posts will be on the new yuletide-pinch-hits comm. This is a public community, so you can see new pinch hits posted there even if you are not signed in.

However, pinch hit claims will still be done over email (one email per claim).
