I would like a gift that explores the relationship between Cain and Riff in more depth, especially if you want to get “problematic” with it. I also very much enjoy case fics so feel free to add original characters when constructing another mystery for Cain and Co. to solve. If you want to write about Jizabel as well, a character study would be welcome, especially regarding his abuse, his relationship to gender, and/or his relationship to his messed up family. Same goes for Cain regarding his abuse and familial relationships, and how Riff fits into it.

How he made a life for himself afterwards. How he got his saxophone. What happened during the month that he knew Julia. Part of me is thrilled because someone nominated this series, as I thought about nominating it myself but was scared of having it rejected due to it being one of the most faithful adaptations to the stories (which are sadly not eligible). However, part of me is upset that Holmes' Boswell was not also nominated. Watson is sadly optional, but if you include him I will love you forever.

Any of the canon stories that were unfortunately never filmed (rest in peace, darling Mr Jeremy Brett). More about Holmes’ days before rooming with Watson. Should you be so inclined to include his conductor of light, a dive into their relationship dynamics would be wonderful. Because Watson never married in this adaptation, what are the ripple effects of that? I don’t care if Holmes and Watson are a couple, queerplatonic, or just devoted friends, as I favor a different interpretation depending on the day of the week.

What I mostly want is to know more about these two, their backgrounds, their feelings for each other, their worldviews, character studies. If you include Akio, I want to dive deeper into his manipulations of Touga, and from Touga to Saionji. The messed up relationships they have with each other. Make it as problematic as you want and dive as deep into literary analysis and symbolism as you want.

When they switch from one to the other or feel like both or neither. Risking getting more intimate with MC when she’s Kaede. Or you could go with a ‘case’ fic, a la story events, or a story about one of their missions, what they get up to. How they met Fu and the bond between human and familiar. A story about the attack on their village and the lingering effects. Last I checked there’s a grand total of 11 fics where they are even included. Anything you give me will be a feast.
